ACT ACTIVE Ukraine Challenge 25/3/22
On a very sunny afternoon we put on all of our sweatshirts, coats, picked up our backpacks, water bottles and lunchboxes and anything else we could find and set off out to do laps of the school field in the hope that we could, even slightly, get a feel for how it must be for some children in Ukraine to have to flee their homes with what they could carry and wear. Parents/carers and other family members were very generous with their sponsorship and all together we raised £1374 (and counting). This is a record for our school and absolutely amazing! This event was also linked to the Bishop's Lent Challenge titled, 'Brave Believers'. Children in Ukraine at present must truly be having to have faith and well done to the all the children of Cherry Hinton in showing their faith and to ACT OUT it and our school values. Yr6 decided to donate the money to the Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. Children have also written prayers which we have shared in collective worship and letters.
