Trees Matter

Trees Matter - what is it and why?

Trees Matter is to get children out, in nature, once a term to just feel and be; to notice the seasons changing and to experience awe and wonder at the architecture of trees, their crucial function and the habitats they are. In addition we hope children grow a love of nature and a wish to care for it.

If a child is with us from Nursery to Yr6 they will go on 24 Trees Matter trips to Cherry Hinton Hall Park.

What our Eco Warriors think about Trees Matter

'It's relaxing, going out into nature to appreciate it.'

'I love the walk there from school. I love appreciating nature and seeing what's growing there. We found mushrooms!'

'I don't think about trees much during break times but I do when I go on Trees Matter.'

'I like the nature all around us.'

'We get to go outside and get fresh air instead of staying inside all the time.'

It makes us feel....

calm; happy when I go there; excited; nature's quite interesting
