  • 7th November Diversity Day

    Thu 09 Nov 2023

This year's theme for Diversity Day was Hopes and Dreams. Parents were invited in to share their experiences growing up in different countries and cultures. Children were asked to think about what they want to be when they grow up and the kind of person they wish to be. Year 4 in particular looked at the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals and how they might contribute to achieving them. In the afternoon over 40 parents (23% of our families) came in for Stay and Play.

Among the experiences on offer to the children were to learn a Hungarian folk dance, hear a Ghanaian folk tale, dance to a Polish song, compare the English and Welsh alphabets, learn some Marahti and to hear from a TA about growing up in Afghanistan. Enjoy the photos.

  • Inter-house sports morning

    Wed 18 Oct 2023

Our Year 6 house captains and their deputies rose to their first challenge really well today. We had the first of our termly inter-house sports competitions. Our Year 6s led their activities well and it was also great to see the older children supporting Reception children to access the activities.

The event also gave our teaching assistant team chance for some professional development. They took the time to share their expertise with each other in order to support our EHCP pupils better. SLT, Miss Louise and the teachers supported our EHCP pupils in the sports. The totals for the events were-

Green (Leah Manning) 441, Red (Eric Liddell) 385, Yellow (Philippa Fawcett) 301, Blue 544 (Thomas Clarkson). Have a look at the photos to see the fun had by all.
