Topic and Long Term Homework

Autumn 2 - What is Europe like? How do I find my way around?

This half-term, we will be developing our geography skills and looking closely at human and physical features around us.

We will study maps, atlases and globes to discover and discuss the features which make up different European countries.  Closer to home, we will identify the countries and counties of the UK and develop skills as mapmakers.

Below is a Knowledge Organiser relating to our learning this half-term. Within it, you will find vocabulary that children will be taught, as well as a breakdown of the unit of work. We will be discussing the vocabulary during lessons – why not talk about it at home as well?

Our topic homework for this half-term is to create an item to showcase your child's interest in and understanding of the topic.  Maybe an Eiffel Tower, a map of the local area or a favourite European food item to share.

Please ensure all topic homework is brought to school by Monday 15th December, so that it can be displayed in our Homework Festival.
