Trees Matter is to get children out, in nature, once a term to just feel and be; to notice the seasons changing and to experience awe and wonder at the architecture of trees, their crucial function and the habitats they are. In addition we hope children grow a love of nature and a wish to care for it.
If a child is with us from Nursery to Yr6 they will go on 24 Trees Matter trips to Cherry Hinton Hall Park.
It's relaxing, going out into nature to appreciate it.
I love the walk there from school. I love appreciating nature and seeing what's growing there. We found mushrooms!
I don't think about trees much during break times but I do when I go on Trees Matter.
I like the nature all around us.
We get to go outside and get fresh air instead of staying inside all the time.
It makes us feel.... calm; happy when I go there; excited; nature's quite interesting
