Our topic this half term is “How Did Britain Keep Calm and Carry On During World War Two?”
For their homework project, children may choose from the following options:
- Create a wartime information poster
Design a poster encouraging people to follow Home Front rules such as rationing, or advising them how to stay safe during an air-raid.
- Build a 3D model of an air-raid shelter
Make a shelter showing what it looked like inside and how families used it during the Blitz.
- Create a profile
Create a profile of key figures (Winston Churchill, women war workers, codebreakers etc.) with facts about their roles.
- Make a propaganda-style slogan and artwork
Invent your own motivational wartime slogan inspired by “Keep Calm and Carry On,” and illustrate it in a bold poster style.
- Write a diary entry from a child in the Blitz
Describe what life was like during air-raid sirens, evacuation, rationing, and how families kept morale high.
