Reading in Year 1

Reading with your child for even a few minutes every day helps them to develop their love of books and reading- as well as their confidence in learning in other subjects.

What books will children bring home each week?

• A book from the school library which is for pleasure and for sharing- it is vital that children experience a wide range of other quality children’s books that are either read to or with them. These books play an essential role in developing a love of reading. Research shows that reading books to your child has a major impact on their future reading ability.

Please encourage your child to read their e-reading book regularly and bring in their reading record to school every day. You will find their Collins E-book login and NumBots login in their reading records.
